C.S. Lewis on symbolic proportions - BeeJay Chapman

Don't use words too big for the subject. Don't say 'infinitely' when you mean 'very'; otherwise you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite."

It is true, when humans feel an empty spot or whole, for what ever reason, they oftern fins it necessary. I believe this to be the root of overendulgences, even in the theoretical state. It is so much more interesting to hear somebody talk in superlatives, and we realize this. THrough classical conditioning and approval, humans learn that doing thing big is more effective. However, The things of the earth are mere, and those things which are beyond are the infinate ones. It seems that it would be in our best interest to save a large bit of ourselves for the unknown, don't misunderstand me, for I carpe every Diem I can. However, to respect and use spiritual energy and emotion wisely would seem to be the way to go.
