- I have read Jonathan Livingston Seagull three times now and I am reading it again. If you have not read it, I suggest that you should (but you don’t have to take my word for it …lol). It is how about a seagull chose to rise above the squabbling tendencies of all the other seagulls by refining his flying skills. Of course, by Jonathan’s choice he was ostracized by the flock and had to leave. One might be sad that Jonathan had to go, but by him leaving, he can attain a sort of nirvana by practicing his flying. He then meets other outcasts like him and Jonathan teaches them what he has learned. This book is special because of its message: that one should stick to their beliefs.
